Wild Swim Paintings: Sea Notes

Now that the Wild Swim collection is out in the world, I’m sharing the individual paintings from it in a blog series, with a little bit of commentary about each one. If you’ve had your eye on one, this is a chance to get to know it better!

This week: Sea Notes

Could be a musical reference, or a reference to what has become a kind of shorthand for the expressing the experience of swimming in these paintings.

Or something else that you bring to it with your own thoughts, feelings, and experiences!

I don’t think of my work as narrative, but some are more ‘readable’ and some I think tend to lean more towards wordless feelings. To me, this one is the latter, with its strong contrasts and suggestive marks.
