Wild Swim Paintings: The Silent Poem Trilogy
Now that the Wild Swim collection is out in the world, I’m sharing the individual paintings from it in a blog series, with a little bit of commentary about each one. If you’ve had your eye on one, this is a chance to get to know it better!
This week: Silent Poem I | Silent Poem II | Silent Poem III
The Silent Poem Trilogy, as I think of it, comprises three 10x8 in paintings that work well together or singly. I think I and II go especially well as a pair. It’s as if singly they are verses, and together they make up a full poem. I think they’d look lovely hanging framed in a row to bring some peaceful, flowing energy to a room.
They’re like little wordless poems to seaweed, hence the title. It was really about expressing a moment of swimming over the swaying fronds and enjoying their sinuous movement.
