3 contemporary abstract coastal paintings for minimalists
Just because you might like a less is more approach to life, it doesn’t have to mean going without beauty!
You might even say that without the extra clutter, beauty is easier to see, or is more obvious by virtue of each object being carefully chosen.
To me, minimalism is about simplicity, sustainability, and an aesthetic that curates with care and invests in things that last. Like art. ;)
I couldn’t really be described as a minimalist, but I do love a clean and spacious aesthetic and like to create pockets of it in my home.
So today I’m sharing three of my paintings that offer that simple, fresh feeling while keeping you connected to the coastal lifestyle you also love!
What I like about these three - and many of my other paintings - is that they allow the grain of the wood to play a starring role, and the delicacy of the seaweed provides focus and stillness.
In Flotsam, below, the seaweed is carved rather than painted, bringing subtle texture to the piece. I think it looks gorgeous with some lush white lilies!
